Kalamazoo

Janet Marguerite (Magett) Lasenby was born August 3, 1942 in Chicago, IL and she passed away early Saturday morning May 21, 2022 with her daughter's Tisha and LaShonda Lasenby by her side at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

While raising her children she received an Associate Degree in Business and Administration at Lake Michigan College, Benton Harbor, MI. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Bangor, MI. She sang in the choir and served as a Missionary helping members in the community. After many years of labor, she retired from Pullman Industries in South Haven, MI Janet loved being outdoors, ranging from the all-women softball league in Covert, MI, all-women bowling league in South Haven, MI, tobogganing in various areas, finding yard sales through-out Southwest Michigan to spending quality with family and friends at special occasions. She LOVED gardening where she spent countless hours tending to her flowers as well as helping others with their gardens. Janet was unique in multiple ways; everyone she came in contact with she showed compassion to and they admired her strength. Janet exemplified an over- comer: First John 5:4-5 "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"

Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her five children Jeffery Magett of Chester, SC Gloria Lasenby of Kalamazoo, MI, Melvin (Renetta) Lasenby of Spanaway, WA., Tisha (Eric French) Lasenby of Kalamazoo, MI and Lashonda (Lemuel Hudson) Lasenby of Kalamazoo, MI. 15 grandchildren: Dominique (Jamaal) Echols, Erica Lasenby, RodEsha Thomas, Deondra Magett, Eugene Marr Jr., Sarena Magett, Ai-Kee' Marr, Isaiah (Donae) Magett, Sa-Niqua Langford, Dajinai Lasenby, Alan Johnson, Marcus Magett, Rebecca Magett, Jasmine Lasenby and Alisa Johnson, 3 bonus grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
