Mattawan, MI Wednesday evening October 19th, Janet Hall lost her lengthy battle with breast cancer. Janet passed very peacefully at home with her family by her side. Janet was born on June 23, 1968 in Plainwell, MI, and shared a birthday with her mother. She was an only child for Richard and Jackie. Janet spent her youth camping and visiting the family cottage in Hersey, MI on the Muskegon River. While she never really enjoyed the camping part, she loved spending the time with her family. Her mother's morning coffee chats and her father's indispensible advice was always cherished and never underestimated. Janet was very close with her family, and will be, always. On May 27, 1989 Janet was united in marriage to Mickey Haring Hall. They were the unlikely marriage success story and true soul mates. Together, they raised two wonderful boys Dylan and Connor. Both Dylan and Connor are proud fourth generation Mattawan students. Janet was also a valued staff member of Portage Community High School for the last 12 years where she worked as an office coordinator, and perhaps more importantly, a mentor to so many students as well as staff. Janet loved her work always, and was passionate about helping encourage students to graduate through very candid and honest feedback that she offered from a mother's perspective. Janet is survived by her father Richard Hall and mother Jackie Statler Hall. She is also survived by her husband of 22 years Mickey Haring Hall and their two sons Dylan and Connor. There are also many cousins and in-laws that Janet was very close to as well. Friends may visit with the family from 12-2 PM on Saturday, October 29, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with a funeral services at 2:00 PM, with Chaplain Dianne Litynski of Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, West Michigan Cancer Center, or Portage Community High School - Student Activities and Support Fund.
