Portage, MI With her beloved family by her side, Janet passed away Tuesday morning, October 27, 2009. She was born March 12, 1941 in Columbus Junction, Iowa, a daughter of William and Lila Stolley Pearson and lived in Portage for the past 41 years. She was a member of the Portage United Church of Christ and was devoted to her family. Janet loved her flowers, especially her "Smiley Face" flower bed by her mailbox. She was also an avid bicyclist, loved sewing for her family and baking many cakes for friends' special occasions. On April 22, 1962, she married Max Breuer, who survives. Janet is also survived by their children, Cynthia Timothy West of Portage, Mark Mary Helen Breuer of Kalamazoo, Debra Kelly Williams of Honolulu, HI and Curtis Carrie Breuer of McGregor, TX; grandchildren, Ethan, Nick, Joe, Hannah, Ashlee, Sam, Abbey and Noah; her twin sister, Joyce Richard Penhollow of FL and sister, Lesa Larry Norris of Hinckley, IL; a brother-in-law, Ronald Gaul; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nancy Gaul; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Pearson. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM in the Portage United Church of Christ, 2731 W. Milham with Pastors Scott Oberle and Lisa Kothe officiating. Interment will follow in South Portage Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Portage United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
