Of Mattawan, Michigan Janet passed away Monday morning, February 16, 2009 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born June 6, 1930 in Northampton, PA, the daughter of Ralph and Lottie Krause Fogel. On April 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to William W. Bilyk. She was a longtime active member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Mattawan, involved in many committees and a member of the choir. She volunteered for over 10 years in Bronson Lakeview Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Janet was also active for many years in 4-H, and enjoyed horseback riding and traveling. Surviving are 3 children, Bill Vicki Bilyk of Gobles, Jan Bill Verastek of Portage, and Tracey Kirk Sinclair of Quincy; 5 grandchildren, Michael Kari Bilyk, Matthew Bilyk, Christopher fiancée Chelsea VandenBerg, Chad Verastek, and Samantha Sinclair; 1 great-grandchild, Logan Bilyk; 1 sister, Nancy Novagratz of Northampton, PA; 1 aunt, Kathryn Fogel of Allentown, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, William, on October 4, 1987; her parents; her twin sister, Joan Kolumber; and her brother, George Fogel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 23830 Front Street, Mattawan, with Father Mathew Illikattil celebrant. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 S. 9th Street with a scripture service at 7:30 PM, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Friday at the church.
