Jane Scholten Connin

September 28, 1940 — May 5, 2024

Jane Scholten Connin, 83 of Rockingham, Western Australia, formerly of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away on May 5, 2024, from injuries sustained in a fall. She was born on September 28, 1940, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Roger and Margaret Scholten.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Margaret Scholten. She is survived by two brothers, Dirk J. Scholten and Robert C. Scholten, her daughter Susann Connin Taylor, and son David Willis Connin, as well as grandchildren Johnathon Connin Taylor, Anna Margaret Taylor, Caroline Joann Taylor, James Edwin Taylor, and Jacob Willis Connin.

Jane graduated from University High School, Kalamazoo in 1959, followed by Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa with a B.A. degree in 1963. She married Neil Connin in 1968 which ended in divorce. She taught reading in Goodrich, Michigan for several years. Jane was also a member of the Pottery Guild in Ann Arbor, Michigan until moving to Western Australia in 2001. There she operated a large sheep ranch (Ella Valla Station) with her late husband Anthony Williamson. Retiring from sheep ranching she moved to Geraldton, Western Australia, where she established herself as a talented quilter. Her last years were spent in Rockingham, Western Australia.

Jane will be laid to rest beside her family at Riverside Cemetery during a private family ceremony.
