Jane F. Marks

Jane F. Marks passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the age of 97. She was born to the late John and Frances (McKulski) Bleser on June 10, 1927, in Evanston, IL. Jane always kept busy, holding several jobs and volunteering for many organizations over the years. Her favorite position was that of a teacher’s aide for Lawrence Public Schools, which she did for almost a decade. She enjoyed crafting, especially basket weaving, woodworking, and sewing. Jane married Robert S. Marks, Jr., on October 26, 1946, and together they shared 71 years of marriage before his death in 2018.

Surviving is her daughter, Pamela Rector; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son-in-law, Douglas Rector; and siblings, Harold “Pat” Steffens, Beatrice Strickrath, Peter “Bud” Steffens, and Jackie Bleser.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 2-4 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 11am at Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Hess-Eastman Post 174, Lawrence Alumni Association, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, in memory of Jane.
