DYKE, Jane Murray
of Parchment Passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2011 in Grand Rapids after a long and courageous struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Jane was born September 4, 1927 in Plainwell, MI the daughter of Paul and Genevieve Murray. She is the oldest of six children. Jane attended Plainwell schools and graduated from Nazareth College. In 1951, she was united in marriage to her loving husband of 60 years, Fred Dyke. They had 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Jane was active in her church; in Borgess pastoral visitation; the caring network; her exercise group; and 12 step recovery. She excelled in every 5K walk in the community. Jane is remembered as a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, friend, and volunteer. She lived her faith and loved everyone with her gentle ways and easy smile. Jane is survived by her husband, Fred; her children, Tom Sue Dyke, Jim Deb Dyke, Mary Gary Fish, Stephen Dyke, Anne Al Pearcy, Peter Dyke; grandchildren, Joe, Molly, and Tom Pearcy, Sarah Dyke, Paul and Christine Fish, Katie Fish, Macaul and Whitney Dinges, Tom and Andrew Dyke; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Joan Casey, Catherine Murray; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother, Ann O'Brien, Mary Klein, and Paul Murray. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 o'clock Friday, July 22, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1628 East G Ave in Parchment. All are welcome, and a luncheon will immediately follow the service. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials in Jane's name may be directed to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, or St. Andrew Community Church.
