Of Bangor, MI Passed away Monday morning, February 15, 2010. Jim was born August 8, 1943 in Cairo, IL the son of Johnny and Betty Williams Whitman and was a graduate of Fennville High School. He attended the Netherlands Reformed Congregation and enjoyed fishing, reading and gardening. On March 23, 1973 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Helen VandenBerg, who survives. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Services will be held at 11:00 o'clock Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Private interment will follow in Arlington Hill Cemetery in Bangor. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Westside Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice. www.langelands.com
