Of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Thursday morning, September 3, 2009. Jim was born June 11, 1937 in Pellston, MI the son of Adam and Edith Hill Mallory. Prior to his retirement in 1998 he was employed with General Motors for 34 years. Jim was an excellent fisherman and hunter; enjoyed woodworking and various other hobbies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren fishing. On August 10, 1979 he was united in marriage to his loving wife of 30 years, the former Joan Kelley, who survives. Also surviving are his children, James, Jr. Tami Mallory, Randy Mallory and Kristen VanLunenburg, Craig Mallory; step-children, Gregory Kirsten Crawford, Scott Crawford and Jamiee Young, Amanda Brent Truman; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Donna Joseph Reardon, Ruth West; special nephew, Larry Mallory; and many other loving nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2:00 Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Interment will follow in East Cooper Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Westside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Pretty Lake Vacation Camp. www.langelands.com
