Kalamazoo, MI Died Thursday morning September 10, 2009. James was born December 9, 1909 in Manton, Michigan a son of John and Alma Waber MacGregor. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1981 and was employed with the U.S. Department of Defense for many years before retiring. He was also a member of the Westwood United Methodist Church; and National Amateur Radio Operators Organization. Radio communication and music were integral parts of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Faith E. Winters MacGregor on December 25, 2006; an infant daughter, Marilyn; a son-in-law, Edward Geer; a brother, Donald; and 2 sisters, Lillian and Anna. He is survived by 2 children, James R. Susan MacGregor of Pentwater, MI and Laurie Geer of Kalamazoo; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 3-5pm Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Monday. Interment will be in Kendall Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Kairos Dwelling Place or the Bickford Cottage Activities Fund of Portage. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
