LOHER, Mr. James F.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning November 3, 2007. James was born May 16, 1930 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Richard and Della Howing Loher. During the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the North Park Reformed Church where he taught Sunday school and was a hymn song leader. He also was a member of Kalamazoo Deacons Conference and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and table tennis. He was preceded in death by his parents. On November 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to Carol M. Houtman Loher who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Douglas Janna Loher of Delton and Donna Richard Thomas of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, James and his wife, Danielle, Teresa, Robert, and Sheri and her husband, Jeff; 2 great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Samantha; a sister, Frances Harold Nieboer of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o?clock Wednesday at North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Rd. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference.
