LEM, James William
Of Portage, Michigan Passed away Saturday May 23, 2009 at his home. James was born August 6, 1935, in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of William and Helen Davis Lem. He was a longtime resident of the Kalamazoo area and had worked for over 30 years with BASF in Parchment prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; by two wives, Gail Beudin and Peggy Lem and by a daughter, Tammy Dolhay. Surviving are his son, Michael Sarah Lem of Portage; grandchildren, Jason, Christine and Rachel Dolhay, Trent Lem, Dustin Jorah and Jennifer Powers; siblings, Jack Judy Lem, Barb Andy Stevens and James Smolinski and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday today from 5-8 PM and Saturday from 1-2 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. where a service to celebrate James' life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday. Following services James will be taken to Charlotte, NC for burial. Memorials in James' memory may be directed to Borgess VNA Hospice Program.
