GOODRICH, JAMES H. James H. Goodrich passed away peacefully Friday, February 10, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia. He was born in Cooper Township in 1933 to Franklin and Carolyn Bingham Goodrich. He graduated from Richland High School in 1951. He worked for many years as a driver-salesman for Continental Baking Company, delivering Hostess Cakes to Kalamazoo-area groceries. As a teen, he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and lettered in varsity sports at Richland High. In the 1960's and 70s he coached boys' baseball and girls' softball teams in Milwood Little League. He won several sales and safe-driving awards while working for Colonial Bakeries, Butternut Bread, and Hostess. His five children all graduated from Michigan State University and he was an avid supporter of Spartan athletics and fan of the Detroit Pistons, Tigers, and Lions. He is survived by his five children: Lawrence Goodrich Sue of Annandale, Va.; Clark Goodrich Robin of Richmond, Calif.; Peggy G. Sass Daniel of Rochester Hills, Mich.; Jill Goodrich-Stuart Michael of Richmond, Va.; and Timothy G. Goodrich Leslie of Bristow, Va.; and by ten grandchildren. His wife of 54 years, Polly Ann Garlick, brother Eugene A. Goodrich and brother Thomas F. Goodrich passed away previously. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25, at 11:30 a.m. at Pine West Catering by Tarnow, 2425 South 11th Street. Interment will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Garden.
