James Wallace Fitzsimmons Jr. , a resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan, was born on October 27, 1956, and passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2025, in the same city. He was a quiet and private individual who valued his family and faith.
James pursued his education at Delton High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University. His commitment to service was marked by his time in the Airforce, where he served as Security Specialist.
He had many interests that brought him joy, including his pet Chihuahuas, reading, studying his Bible, playing guitar, listening to music, and attending The River, his church community.
James is survived by his sisters, Jani Fitzsimmons, Julie and Charlie James, and Jacqueline and Neil Moerdyk. He is also survived by his aunts, Beverly Stewart, Karen Deau, Mary (Dave) Thompson, and uncles, William (Mariann) Fitzsimmons, Paul Drummond, and Roger Drummond. Additionally, he leaves behind his nephews and nieces: Chad and Brook James, Travis and Christina James, Franklin and Heather James, Faith and Chuck Schoedel, Jade Moerdyk, Shane Fitzsimmons, and Kylie and Nicola Fitzsimmons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Joan (Drummond) Fitzsimmons, and his brother, Jeffery Fitzsimmons. His burial at Fort Custer is expected to take place this coming June.
