CARR, James S.
of Kalamazoo Died December 1, 2010 at his residence. Jim was born September 22, 1919 in Kalamazoo, MI and was a lifelong resident. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Prior to his retirement, Jim was employed with Consumers Power for 31 years at the Morrow Plant. He was a member of the American Legion, the D.A.V. and the V.F.W. Post # 827. On August 20, 1949, he was married in Kalamazoo to his dear wife of 61 years, the former Barbara J. McElwain, who survives. Also surviving is his faithful dog "Feathers"; several nieces and nephews and two special cousins, Angel A. and Lorna Ayala of Kalamazoo. Jim was preceded in death by 2 sisters and1 brother. Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation. Private entombment services will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. The family wishes to express thanks for the special care of Jim extended by Chaplain Diane, Amy H., Connie N. and Kate of Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan.
