Passed away Thursday evening, May 22, 2008. Jim was born February 20, 1911, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of James D. and Alice Fisher Bobb, Sr. He has been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was the production manager for Limousine Body Company of Kalamazoo and later was a sales representative for Gates Rubber Company. He had served as a supervisor for the Kalamazoo County Road Commission and as a supervisor for Oshtemo Township. Jim was known for raising and showing Dachshund's. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Kennel Club and had started Happytail Boarding Kennel. He was an avid photographer and was a member of the Kalamazoo Photography Club. Jim also enjoyed boating and had obtained the rank of Commander with the Kalamazoo Power Squadron. On June 16, 1928, he was united to the former Lucille Bucklin Bobb who survives. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Kathleen Richard Delanter of Elkhart, IN; nephews and nieces, David Carol Bucklin of Kalamazoo, John Bane of North Carolina, Laura Steve Eshuis of Climax, Cindy Steve Warnicke of Parchment, Barb Rich Wolf of Elkhart, IN, and other nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pauline Everard. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 11:00 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street with Pastor James Dyke officiating. A private interment will be held in Mountain Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10-11 AM at the Westside Chapel.
