Passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at her residence. Jackie was born December 29, 1931 in Belleville, IL, a daughter of Ray and Agnes VanDeWalker and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for several years at Gibson Guitar and later as a medical assistant at the Spine Center. Jackie was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was very social, a devoted friend to many and a very loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Evans. Surviving are 2 sons and 1 daughter, Scott Evans of Akron, OH, Candace Frank Murphy of Nashville, TN and Chris Evans of Mattawan; 4 grandchildren, Trisha, Brian, Cole and Oliver Evans; 2 brothers and 1 sister, David and Michael VanDeWalker and Nancy Ralph Allen, all of Michigan; several nieces and nephews. A gathering for Jackie's friends and family will be held on Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., followed by a very brief committal service in the Chapel of Mt.
