Jacqueline Ruth ''Jackie'' Engstrom

ENGSTROM, Jacqueline Ruth, ?Jackie? Kalamazoo Passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007. She was born August 3, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of James J. and Ethel Stillwell Bennett and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for several years. She was a member of Kalamazoo Missionary Church, where she was very active in the kitchen, arranging for funeral and wedding luncheons for many years. Jackie was a 1949 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School, worked at Borgess Hospital for 30 years and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was like a mom to all and loved helping people. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Suzanne Ruth Engstrom in 1998; and 2 brothers, Roger Bennett and Alan Henry Bennett. Jackie is survived by her son, Richard Roxann Engstrom of Portage; two grandchildren, Nicholas Engstrom and Kayla Engstrom of Portage; two brothers, James Allen Betty Bennett of Elkhart, IN and Brian Cindy Bennett of Buchanan; a sister, Madeline Joseph Davis of Laurel, MT; her former husband, Richard N. Engstrom of San Diego, CA; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Kalamazoo Missionary Church, 5045 E. Michigan, with Pastor Ken Smeader officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
