Jacob Andrew Myers

   Jacob Andrew Myers passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, surrounded by his family after lengthy illness and courageous battle. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI on May 20, 1978, to James and Terri (Sherburne) Myers. Jacob was a multi-talented young man with a magnetic personality that drew people to him, a trait that was especially helpful while he was in sales.  He was a dedicated healthcare worker as a respiratory therapist for Airway Oxygen and most recently a hyperbaric technician for Metro Health prior to his illness. Jacob was a devoted father to Austin, Audrey and Addie, and a loving husband to his high school sweetheart Amanda (Rice), whom he married on July 24, 2004. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hockey and was a huge U of M fan. Jacob was a talented percussionist who received accolades throughout his career at Otsego High School, including the John Philip Sousa Award his senior year. Music was very special to him and was a huge part of his life. One of his greatest joys was coaching his children in sports and watching them grow.
   Surviving are his loving wife, Amanda; his three children, Austin, Audrey and Addie; parents, James and Terri Myers; brother, Doug (Debbie) Myers and their daughter, Blythe Myers; grandmother, Belva Bertholet; father and mother-in-law; Jim and Janice Rice; brother-in-law, Jamie (Katie) Rice and their children, Elyse and Curtis Rice. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Toke Myers; grandfather, Paul Myers; and grandfather, Tom Sherburne.
   The family will greet friends on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 1 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations towards an education fund for Jacob’s children, Rose Arbor, or the U of M Cancer Center.
