Age 80, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Jack was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 31, 1943, the son of the late Jack B. and Glenna “June” (Pillars) Siegel. He was a graduate of Portage Central High School, class of 1961. Jack was a star athlete while in school and was the captain of the football team, as well as holding the school record for hurdles. On October 10, 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Gloria “Dottie” Jean Thrasher, who survives. Jack owned and operated Warehouse Distributors, a furniture store in Oshtemo, for more than 50 years. He was an avid golfer and loved working on and restoring old cars. Jack was charming, positive, and never judgmental of people. He had a wide variety of friends and was well liked. Jack always loved a good party with friends and family. Besides his wife, Dottie, Jack is survived by his sons, Todd (Katie Kean) Siegel and Tony (Jianhua) Siegel; grandchildren, Sara Siegel, Lorna Siegel, Keegan Steil, Nicholas Siegel, Zachary Siegel and Chi Zhang and one great-grandchildren, Zayne Siegel. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Portage Schoolcraft Eagles Lodge 3531, 11611 Shaver Rd., Schoolcraft, MI 49087. Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Navigators.
