MOSES, Jack L.GalesburgDied Friday evening, May 4, 2007 at his residence with his family by his side. Jack was born June 1, 1934 in Houston, TX, the son of Charles and Pansy Musgrove Moses and had lived in the Galesburg area for most of his life. He attended Galesburg High School where he excelled in baseball. He tried out and made the farm club for the St. Louis Cardinals, but decided to serve his country in the armed forces. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict onboard the U.S.S. Duncan DDR #874. Following his military service, he became employed for 35 years as a firefighter at the V.A. Medical Center in Battle Creek, until his retirement in 1988. Jack was a member of the Delton V.F.W. Post. He enjoyed his family and especially spending time with his great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Charlotta in 1995 and by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are 5 children, Kristina Larry Wirgau, Denise Ron Armstrong, Jack Vickie Moses, all of Galesburg, Dana Deb Morgan-Moses of Battle Creek and Jon Moses of Kalamazoo; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 o?clock Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. with the Rev. Jack Roomsburg officiating. Interment with military honors in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Monday from 6-8 pm at the Galesburg Chapel. Memorial contributions in Jack?s memory may be made to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice.
