McMULLEN, Jack M. of Portage Jack passed away Friday afternoon, March 23, 2012 at his home. He was born March 8, 1947 in Washington, D.C., the son of Jack Sr. and Pauline Shaffer McMullen. Jack was a veteran of the United States Marines Corps serving from 1966 to 1969 during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by General Motors Corp. for over 36 years until his retirement in 2006. Jack was a member of the Kalamazoo Eagles Aerie 526 and Mansfield, OH Moose Lodge 341. He was also a devoted fan of the Detroit Red Wings, an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and shooting billiards. Surviving are his 2 daughters, Tammy McMullen and Dina Sutton both of Kalamazoo; step-daughter, Lisa Davis of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren, Ciera, Roulairen, Kelcie, Caleb, and Camden; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaesen and Carlos; mother, Pauline Kersten of Portage; 3 sisters, Dianne Joe Kirk of Leesburg, VA, Frances Terry Gillam of Portage and Peggy Allison of Parchment; brother, Dave Donna McMullen of Parchment; former spouses, Carol Gilman and Brenda Davis; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, Jack McMullen Sr.; step-father, Bill Kersten and sister, Libby Money. Funeral services for Jack will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment with military honors will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kairos Dwelling.
