AMBS, Jack L.
of Galesburg Passed away March 30, 2012. Jack was born June 3, 1933 in Battle Creek to the late Lynn and Esther Snyder Ambs. He was united in marriage to Mary Terrell on October 4, 1952, who survives. Jack served in the U.S. Army from April of 1953 until honorably discharged in March of 1955. He worked for the fire apparatus in Battle Creek and then retired from Hydreco after 32 years. Jack was a devoted family man and a very proud American. He faithfully flew the American flag and P.O.W. flags daily. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and sharing his skills with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved travelling to the U.P., Lake Gogebic, on family vacations. His memory will forever be close in our hearts and bring a smile to our faces. Also surviving Jack are his children, Sandra Ambs of Galesburg, Michael Joann Ambs of Kalamazoo, Jack Ambs of Galesburg and John Ambs also of Galesburg; 4 grandchildren, Michael Regina, Michelle Matt, Jeremy Shelley and Stacy; 5 great grandchildren, Katelyn, Michael, Ryan, Ally and Andrew; sisters, Dorothy Tack and Jeanne Clark; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Ambs, Jerri Farrington and Kathy Ballard; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Jack in death were, a brother, Gordon Ambs; brothers-in-law, Minor Tack, Robert Clark, Doug Farrington and Dick Ballard. A graveside service will take place Friday, April 6th, 1:00 o'clock at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Those wishing to attend should be at the Ft.
