Died Tuesday morning March 12, 2019. Isabelle was born July 14, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois a daughter of Anthony and Stella (Wilanowicz) Buckun. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 15 years, coming from Niles, IL. Isabelle was employed with Sears and Roebuck for 13 years, retiring in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, William M. Smalley on April 22, 2003. Isabelle is survived by 2 daughters, Elizabeth (Richard) Lizik and Barbara Graca all of Portage; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Anthony and George Buckun both of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held in Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation.
