of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Friday evening on June 8, 2012. Irma was born October 3, 1914 in Plainwell, Michigan the daughter of Laura and George Housel. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. As a long time resident of Kalamazoo, she served as a nurse at Bronson Hospital and became a member of the First United Methodist Church. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Donald B. Shaw and son Donald B. Shaw, Jr. Tim father of four children. She is survived by daughter Dr. Ann Laura Shaw of Livonia, MI and four grandchildren; Jennifer Wright, Laura Schafer, Donald Benton Shaw III Chip, Gretchen Sweetland and the mother of the grandchildren Jean Shaw of Kalamazoo. Irma Shaw was a woman of faith and fairness. She was a joy to be with. Many friends shared her humor and kindness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, where family will greet friends from 1-2:00, prior to the service. Rev. Julie Kline will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, or Angela Hospice, 14100 Newburgh Road, Livonia, MI 48154.
