Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning October 9, 2010. Irene was born June 1, 1919 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Patrick and Mary Ball Egan. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William V. Shipe in 1963; an infant daughter, Sharon in 1943; and 7 brothers and sisters. Irene is survived by a son, Richard Kathleen Shipe of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel DeYoung of Milo, MI; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered 11 o'clock Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
