ROBERTS, Ira Ray
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Friday afternoon, October 8, 2010 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Ira was born October 5, 1923 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the son of Ira C. and Cloie Johnson Roberts. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Prior to his retirement he was an electrical foreman with the James River Paper Company. On February 10, 1951 he was united in marriage to the former Rovilla Tompkins, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Kenneth Roberts, Susan DeGore, Becky Philip Laney; 6 grandchildren, James, Ashley, Michael, Dawson, Tela, and Trent; great-grandson, Seth; his brother, Jimmy Earl Joni Roberts; special niece, Elizabeth and her family; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Marie. Friends may meet the family Sunday afternoon from 3-5pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Private interment of cremains will be at a later date in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. www.langelands.com
