Parchment, MI Passed away Tuesday morning, September 15, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Inez was born on July 23, 1947 in Kalamazoo, daughter of Orvil and Mary Anderson. She was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area as well as having a summer home in Delton. She was employed for nearly 30 years with Jarvis Pemco, until the company closed in December of 2007. She was a past member of the Kalamazoo Eagles Lodge #526, was a Union Steward for the United Steelworkers Union and did accounting work for several local area unions. She enjoyed sewing and never missed an episode of the Guiding Light. Her greatest joy's were her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring person, always giving of herself and willing to help friends, family, and sometimes people she hardly knew. On November 29. 1974, she married Robert Raber, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her parents, a sister, Sally Anderson and a step-son, Carl Wayne Griffith. Only July 8, 1995, she married Carl J. Griffith, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Brenda Juan Contreras of Monette, Arkansas and Laura Shirley of Parchment; five grandchildren, Dalton, Amber, JC, Brandon and Kristen; two step-daughters; Carol Griffith of South Carolina and Betty Paul Casault of Indiana; seven step-grandchildren, William, Kevin, Pam, PJ, Brittany, Chelsea and Kylie; 6 step-great grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, Wanda Lester Raymer of Gladwin, Mary Stephenson of Monette, AR, Carol Doug Marr of Kalamazoo, Wava David Thomas of Baldwin and Orvil Doris Anderson of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Interment will be in the East Cooper Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at the chapel 6-8pm Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Borgess Hospice Program. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
