MOGHISSI, Ida Laura Edie MOGHISSI, Ida Laura Edie, devoted wife of Kamran Moghissi, beloved mother and adored grandmother, passed away December 11, 2012 after a long struggle with dementia. Edie was born Ida Laura Tedeschi on June 12 1925 to Guerino and Genoveffa Tedeschi in Bellinzona, Switzerland. She moved to Geneva and became a midwife at La Maternite de Geneve where she met a young medical student, who she married in 1952. In 1959, after living in England and Iran, they immigrated to the United States and settled in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She became active in community affairs, volunteering in PTA, the Hutzel Hospital Auxiliary and the Grosse Pointe Assistance League. Her greatest role was that of wife, mother and grandmother, which she relished like no other. She and her husband moved to Pine Lake, Michigan and Naples, Florida in 1997 and enjoyed traveling and visiting family. Edie is survived by her husband of 60 years, her daughters, Diana Weaver of Dallas, Texas and Soraya Coccimiglio of Kalamazoo; granddaughter, Laurelle Justus of Brighton and grandsons, Joe Weaver, Paul Weaver and Andrew Weaver of Dallas, great-grandsons Cameron Justus and Jackson Weaver. She also leaves behind loving in-laws, nieces and nephews both in the U.S. and in Europe. She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Zita, Enzo, Elma and Amadea. The family will hold a visitation at Langeland Family Funeral Home, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, Kalamazoo from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 14 with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Christian rite of burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., Kalamazoo, at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 15 followed by internment at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care Edie received at the Springs at Bronson Place and through Hospice Care.
