of Portage, MI Died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Laurels of Galesburg. Age 93 years. Howard was born August 11, 1918, the son of the late Harry and Jane Ahern O'Keefe. He served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a huge sports fan, especially of the Detroit Tigers and played minor leage baseball. He was a ball boy at the first U.S. Open tennis tournament. He also enjoyed fishing. He was married to Carolyn Von Koss O'Keefe; she preceded him in death in 1998. Surviving are his four children, Daniel Lynne Grigsby O'Keefe of Portland, OR, Joan Ellen O'Keefe of Virginia, Margaret Paul Cova of Cedar, MI and Nancy Roger McMillan of Portage. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ed O'Keefe. A graveside service will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Sheperd Center of Greater Kalamazoo, 1833 S.
