Kalamazoo Mr. McNees passed away Wednesday morning, December 12, 2007 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born October 13, 1939 in Kalamazoo, one of four children to Homer Sr. and Ellen Hale McNees. Homer was retired from the Ironworkers Local 340 in Battle Creek. On September 19, 1964, he was united in marriage to Janet Hunt in Georgia, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are his parents; and 1 brother, David McNees. Surviving are his daughter, Susan Tim Sochor of Kalamazoo; 2 step-children, Loretta Roger Williams and Terry Parker both of Portage; 6 grandchildren, William McNees, Mandi Rhoades, Kendra and Robert Sochor, Chad Parker and Jessica Campbell; 1 great-grandchild, Clark Lilly; 1 half-brother, Mike Haring of Lansing; his close friend, Mary Lanning of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. Memorial donations may be directed to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
