Holt Monroe Moore

MOORE, HOLT MONROE Holt Monroe Moore, age 93, passed away February 22, 2013 in Belleville, Michigan. Holt was born June 27, 1919, in Benton, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Lillian Haithcoat Moore. He was a longtime resident of Kalamazoo and had served in the Air Force during World War II from 1941-46. For over 30 years he was employed as a truck driver with Bender & Lowden Motor Freight. In 1946 he was united in marriage to Grace Cizzar Moore who preceded him in death in 1995. In 1997 he was united in marriage to Dena Menck Moore who preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters and a brother. Surviving are his son, Holt J. Jennifer Nightingale Moore of Seattle, WA; a grandson, Ryan Ducey and grand dog Marietta Moore. He is also survived by beloved niece Sharon Zander Jerry of Belleville and a sister-in-law, June Moore. Additionally, he leaves behind his honorary nieces Kathy Bodor Jon Hendrix of Hudson Ohio and Nancy Carosso Peter Shirley of Seattle. WA. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, February 28th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, where funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 1st with Rev. Fritz Kruithoff officiating. A private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials in Holt's memory may be directed to Bethany Reformed Church or Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
