H. Lorraine (Munson) Grosser

Lorraine Grosser passed away at her home on Wednesday July 21, 2021. She was born April 2, 1925, in Otsego, MI a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Dunn) Munson. Lorraine met the love her life one day while riding her bike down East Michigan Ave. in Kalamazoo, and nearly ran him over. That encounter lead to their 56-year marriage, family, and happy life. Along the way Lorraine worked at KVP Sutherland, Clarage Fan, Singer Sewing Machine, and finally, after graduating from the American Beauty College, opened her beauty salon, which she ran until retirement. She attended 4-H in her youth, and in the early 60's she was a 4-H instructor of clothing construction. She enjoyed sewing and reading, but most of all her family and friends. On January 20, 1951, Lorraine married D. Richard "Bus" Grosser who preceded her in death on February 3, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Klomp; grandson, Scott Klomp; brother, Vernon Munson; and sister, Alice Entrekin. Lorraine is survived by her sons, Richard (Debbie) Grosser of Kalamazoo and Rodney (Julie) Grosser of Elkhart, IN; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ardis (Thomas) Ivens; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 27th from 12 to 2 pm when services will begin at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Center Ave, Portage, MI 49002. Private graveside services will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
