Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007 in Kalamazoo. She was born June 27, 1927 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Christian and Anna Zylstra Van Loo and had been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. Hilda was a member of the Milwood Christian Reformed Church of Kalamazoo and also a member of the Covenant Church at Bay Shore Windmill Village in Bradenton, FL. She was a 1945 graduate of Kalamazoo High School and had worked as an election official for the City of Kalamazoo for many years. On July 12, 1946, she married Morris W. VandenBosch, who preceded her in death on February 16, 2005. She was also preceded by her parents; a brother, Dick Van Loo; and two sisters, Cornelia Kinney and Christine Kruzinga. Hilda enjoyed playing golf and participated in the Milham Baguettes League with her sister, Cobie, for many years. Hilda also enjoyed watching golf, tennis and baseball, but her greatest love was caring for dogs. In addition to many family dogs over the years, she and her husband, Morrie, spent 14 winters in Florida, where they worked as volunteers at Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc. Hilda was a loving wife and mother to her family and a very giving person. She is survived by her children, Chris VandenBosch and Carol VandenBosch, both of Portage; her sisters, Jacoba ?Cobie? Peters of Kalamazoo and Ann Meyers of Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Rev. Loren Kotman officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Milwood Christian Reformed Church Memorial Fund or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. www.langelands.com 343-1508
