OOSTERHOUSE, Henry J.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away November 14, 2010 at Bronson Nursing Home. He was born July 28, 1913 in Kalamazoo to the late Jacob and Bessie Zuidema Oosterhouse. Henry was married to Georgina Harmon on December 8, 1939, who preceded him in death in 2004. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII until honorably discharged. An accomplished printer by trade, he was with Sutherland Paper Company and Merchant's Publishing Company for many years until his retirement in 1982. Henry had the privilege, with his wife beside him, of breaking first ground as a founder of Northeastern Baptist Church. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, serving in many areas, including the Merrill Home. Surviving Henry are his children, Mary Jane Philip Shannon of Paw Paw and Jeanne Ann Dan Leet of Williamsport, PA; 4 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding Henry in death were; his brother, Hilbert Oosterhouse and sister, Jennette Gruizenga. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a memorial service will take place on Thursday at 2:00 o'clock. Interment will be private at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes. Please see
