LONGJOHN, Mr. Henry C.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Monday morning August 24, 2009. Henry was born April 22, 1919 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Barny and Nellie Ossenward Longjohn. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and owned H.C. Longjohn Insurance Agency for 20 years before retiring. Henry was also a member of the East Main Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene V. Dam Longjohn on June 12, 2005; 4 brothers, William, John, Edward, and Gabriel; a sister, Florence Molhoek; and a brother-in-law, Edwin Adams. He is survived by 2 sons, Paul Nina Longjohn of Mattawan and Michael Ruthann Longjohn of Vicksburg; 5 grandchildren, Shannon, Blaine, Donald, and Travis Longjohn, and Tameca Arora; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Henrietta Adams of Portage; and Eva Harley Pierce of Sturgis, MI; a brother, Peter Elaine Longjohn of Harmony, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private services and burial will be held in Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a religious organization of your choice. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
