KINKEMA, Henry J. Kalamazoo, MI Henry passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Friendship Village Medical Center. He was born April 2, 1914, in Grand Rapids, the son of the Henry and Johanna Stryker Kinkema, Sr. Henry was a graduate of Hope College and Ferris State University where he received his Degree in Pharmacy. For all of his working life he was employed as a pharmacist with The Upjohn Company. In his retirement years he and his wife resided at Glen Lake until returning to Friendship Village in Kalamazoo. While at Glen Lake they were members of Glen Lake Community Church. He was a very active and longtime member of Bethany Reformed Church and was also a longtime member of the Rotary Club. On June 19, 1940, Henry was united in marriage to the former Lois LaRue Ketal in Holland, MI. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Lois in 2008; also by his parents and by two siblings, Percy and Marguerite. Surviving are his three children, Robert Lucille Kinkema of Lincoln Park, Joan Hall of Bay City, and David Pam Kinkema of Fort Worth, TX; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. Graveside Services for Henry will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday July 3, at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park Chapel, 3941 S. Westnedge Avenue, with Rev. Dr. Robert Terwilliger officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 AM until the time of services on Friday at the cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany Reformed Church.
