NAP, Mrs. Henrietta Cook
Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Tuesday morning April 28, 2009. Henrietta was born June 11, 1921 in Wetsinge, Groningen, the Netherlands, the daughter of John and Henrietta Klooster Cook Koekkoek. She immigrated with her family to Kalamazoo in 1930. On May 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Henry Nap, who preceded her in death on February 9, 2006. She was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and created many wonderful memories of tea parties, fairy furniture, gingerbread houses and trips downtown to feed pigeons in Bronson Park. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing dress up clothes for the grandchildren and making detailed and intricate miniatures for her dollhouse. Also preceding Henrietta in death were her parents, her brother, Clarence Cook and her sister, Effie Ford. Surviving are her children Marvin Nancy Nap, and Gary Mary Nap all of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Brian Kris Nap, David Kim Nap, Mikey Michelle Nap, Amy Jim Davis, Julie Nap and Becky Nap; eight great-grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew, Melissa, Alyssa, Arianna, Nathan, Grace, and Logan; one great-great-grandchild, Kerrigan; two sisters and two brothers, Hilda Brooks, Paw Paw, Fred Gwyn Cook and John Cook, Kalamazoo, and Annetta Richardson, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at Hope Reformed Church, 910 Jenks Blvd. Visitation will be 5-8pm Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Private graveside services will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Second Christian Reformed Church or to the Rose Arbor Hospice Program.
