Died Friday afternoon September 8, 2017. Hendrikje was born July 23, 1923 in Zwolle, The Netherlands a daughter of Evert and Elsie (VandenBerg) Selles. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1956 and was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation Church. Hendrikje was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bertus Boer on September 5, 1990; a son, Edward Boer in 1947; a daughter, Janie Boer in 2006; and a brother, Frans Selles in 2008. She is survived by 4 children, Elsie (Larry) Locker of South Haven, Evert Boer of Baseline Lake, and Margaret (Mike) Harris and Deborah (Mike) Riethmeier all of Comstock; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Janie Wallett-Selles of The Netherlands; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday, September 15th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Maple Grove Comstock Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Providence Christian Schools or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
