SCHOLTEN, Helen F.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday October 23, 2012. Helen was born August 30, 1922 in Frankfurt, Kentucky the daughter of Asa and Margaret Ward Miller. She was a member of Kalamazoo First Assembly of God where she played the organ for 50 years. Helen taught piano; was an excellent seamstress, and had artistic talent with a needle. On August 23, 1941 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Scholten, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Kerri Woodhouse; daughter-in-law, Tammi Scholten; and a brother, Ralph Miller. Surviving are her children, Dianne Tom Nelson, Donald Scholten, John Scholten; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Senne, Ruth Baty; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday at the Kalamazoo First Assembly of God, 5500 Oakland Dr., with Pastor David Barringer officiating. Friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery on Monday.
