Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Sunday evening September 2, 2012. Helen was born May 6, 1919 in Mascoutah, Illinois a daughter of Frank and Edna Griesbaum Grimmer. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1940 and was a member of the Moose Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert "Wib" L. Schmellmeyer on January 9, 1995; a sister; and 4 brothers. She is survived by 2 children, Ronald Tammy Schmellmeyer of Merrillville, IN and Robin Will McEnroe of Three Rivers, MI; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, a brother; 5 sisters; her good friend, Geraldine Myers of Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be held 4 o'clock Saturday, September 8th in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Park Place Living Center or the charity of your choice.
