PANAS, Mrs. G. Helen
of Galesburg, Michigan G. Helen Panas was born January 31, 1922, in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Polish immigrants Alexander and Apalonia Piecuch Fasinski. Helen passed away peacefully on March 9, 2012 at her home in Galesburg, Michigan. She had been a resident of Galesburg since 1999, previously living in Westfield, New Jersey, San Jose, CA and Oakdale, CA. Her husband of 60 years, Myron Walter Panas, preceded her in death on May 3, 2003. She was additionally preceded in death by her parents and all 5 of her siblings. Surviving are her two daughters, Debra Jim McGuire of San Jose, California and Sharon Rockne Kraiger of Galesburg, Michigan; four grandchildren; Charlie and Anson Kraiger, Alena and Alex McGuire. Helen was active and traveled often to spend time with family throughout her 90 years. Her's was a life well lived enjoying and supporting a large family that was as much a source of joy to her as she was to them. Helen was a positive and energetic influence in the lives of all that knew her. Helen's can-do, upbeat view of virtually everything was matched only by her caring and selfless nature, great sense of humor and fun loving personality. She will be truly missed by many. In accordance with Helen's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials in Helen's memory may be directed to the Ft.
