HEITZMAN, Helen E.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at her residence. Helen was born October 12, 1923 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Clyde and Gladys Ryder Postlewait and had been a life long resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Prior to her retirement in 1988, Helen worked at Borgess Medical Center for 26 years. She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church; a member of Peacetime Veterans Organization; and the Eagles Lodge #527. Helen enjoyed embroidering, gardening, and reading. Helen always enjoyed butterscotch disc candy and spinach. She is survived by her loving daughter, Victoria Heitzman-Wilkes; grandson, Carl Robert Wilkes; close friends, Judy Wyment, Michele Dickinson, Jerry Liberman, RN from Burnham Brook, Bea Stewart from Lifecare Center of Plainwell, MI, and Sister Tammy of Borgess Gardens. A private family service will be held at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Private entombment will be in the mausoleum at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
