Helen L. Bray

Helen Bray passed away Tuesday morning, November 20, 2018 at her home. Helen was born November 14, 1937 in Paris, France the daughter of Edward and Ruth (Frampton) Ledoux. She completed grade school an dhigh school in Latrobe, PA and then attended Penn Sate University (attaining a Bachelor's degree) and the University of Georgia in Athens (completing a Master's degree), majoring in theater design. Prior to her retirement she was a professor at Western Michigan University in the Theatre Department. Helen was a member of the Mary Webb Society, Bronte Society, the Sherlock Holmes Society and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra League. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She traveled to London, England to attend the School of Art in Wimbledon for two years, studying costume construction. Included in her many travels Helen took a trip by automobile with a college friend through much of Western Europe. Later trips include visits to Syria, Lebanon, St. Helena and Russia.

Helen is survived by her children, Suzanne (Tobin) Lewis, Randall Bray; and grandchildren, Brooke and Brayden Lewis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Renee Holmes. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Village, 6600 Constitution Blvd in Portage on Friday, December 7th at 5:00pm.
