GRIFFITH, Mr. Harry J.
Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Monday evening November 12, 2007 with his family at his side. Harry had a fruitful rewarding life that was shared with many wonderful loved ones and friends. He was challenged with health problems in his last years, but faced them with great courage and valor to the end. Harry was born October 24, 1924 in Otsego, Michigan a son of Ebbie and Alice Clear Griffith. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Air Force. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with Consumers Power Company for 38 years before retiring. He was also a member of the Christian Church-Disciples of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Griffith in 1967; 4 sisters, Vada, Donna, Irene, and Katherine; and 4 brothers, Robert, Sidney, Charles, and Gilbert. On August 30, 1947, he was united in marriage to Mary Lee Flegal Griffith who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Suzanne Charles Anderson of Arizona, Stephen Debbi Griffith of Otsego, and Dave Amy Griffith of Plainwell; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Eugene ?Wayne? Mary Griffith of Wayland and Ebbie Griffith, Jr. of Bitely, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 9 o?clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Heart Fund.
