Of Kalamazoo Harriett passed away Sunday morning, October 26, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born October 12, 1924 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Earl and Esther Buchanan Gelhaar. Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael Waskowsky, and her parents. Surviving are 2 children, Gregory Jill Waskowsky and Nicolaus Kogon both of Kalamazoo; 1 sister, Janice Charles Nicholas of Munising; and 1 brother, Charles Gelhaar of Kalamazoo. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services or visitation. Private interment will be in Mountain Home Cemetery, Kalamazoo. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
