Harold H. Van Hoe

VAN HOE, Harold H. Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Harold was born on July 15, 1921 in Kalamazoo a son of the late Harry R. and Wilhelmina Ebelink Van Hoe. Harold was united in marriage to Katherine Drenth on May 23, 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI., she survives him. He served his country in the U.S. Army, from September of 1942 until honorably discharged in August of 1945. Among his decorations are the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1-bronze battle star and the WWII Victory Medal. Harold was employed by the James Rivers Paper Company in Quality Control, for over 31 years until his retirement in 1983. Among his hobbies were, rose gardening, at home and at church, fishing and sports in general. He served as Sunday School Secretary of Third Reformed Church for many years. Surviving him are; children, Ruth M. Joe McCarthy of Defiance, OH, Larry A. Van Hoe of Dutton, MI, Ronald J. Kathy Van Hoe of Portage and Jeffrey H. Van Hoe of Wyoming, Delaware; grand child, Greggory A. Van Hoe; brother, Donald J. Van Hoe; sisters, Lucille Ernest Voss, Frances Van Hoe and Lois Johnson; sister-in-law Doris Drenth and brother-in-law Arnold Pope; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2007 from 2 ? 4:00 and 6 ? 8:00 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, 2007, 11:00a.m. at the Third Reformed Church, 2345 N. 10th Street, Kalamazoo, Rev. Dar VanderWal, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of one?s choice.
