Harold 'Hoss' Cartwright

CARTWRIGHT, Harold "Hoss"
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Harold Harris "Hoss" Cartwright, age 43, passed away suddenly June 25, 2012 at his residence in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Hoss was born January 18, 1969, in Fukuoka, Japan, the son of Harold Harris and Evelyn Joyce Ross Cartwright. He was a longtime Kalamazoo area resident and has been employed as a Construction Carpenter for over 20 years. He was a member of the United Carpenter Workers Local #525. On June 3, 2012, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Marie Wickens Cartwright, who survives. Also surviving are his three children, Chan Harris Cartwright of Kalamazoo, Kylea Marie Cartwright of Kalamazoo, River Thomas Cartwright of Parchment; grandchildren, Chan Harris Cartwright, Jr. and Carter J. Anthony Stafford plus one more on the way; his mother, Evelyn Cartwright; a brother, Guy Cartwright; a sister, Penny Miller; his former wife, Jeanne Marie Cartwright; Hoss' best friend, Patrick Forseman; Kathryn's best friend, Patty Stoddard; parents-in-law, John and Donna Wickens; sister-in-law; Wendy Wickens; nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews; and many special friends. Hoss was preceded in death by his father, Harold Cartwright and by his older brother, Willie Overacker. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 1st from 2-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday July 2nd at Maple Grove Cemetery in Comstock. Following the burial service, friends are invited to join the family to celebrate Hoss' life at the Wild Bull 139 S. Edwards Street, Kalamazoo for a time of food, fellowship and to share your special memories. Memorials in Hoss' memory may be directed to the family to help with funeral expenses.
