BOGARD, Mr. Harold S.
of Portage, MI Died Tuesday morning May 10, 2011 in Lawton, Michigan. Harold was born April 24, 1919 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Peter and Laura Stieve Bogard. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. Harold had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Fred Hotop Plumbing and Heating for 30 years before retiring. He was also a member of the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Kenneth Bogard. On August 8, 1942, he was united in marriage to Esther M. Myers Bogard who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, David Sharon-Dec. Bogard of Portage, Sandra Gerald Spears and Carol Charles Landrum all of Marcellus, MI, and Peter Linda Bogard of Scotts; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bettie Bogard of Punta Gorda, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o'clock Friday at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2381 Romence Road. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E.
