WAIT, H. Virginia, "Ginny"
Kalamazoo Passed away Thursday, January 10, 2008. She was born January 22, 1920 in Marne, MI the daughter of David E. and Katherine Martindale Hanson and had lived in Kalamazoo for the past 60 years. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ginny had attended First Presbyterian Church for several years and taught Sunday School. She was employed as a full time teacher in the public school system of Stevensville and part time for several other systems, after raising her children. Ginny was an avid golfer, bridge player and a member of the Kalamazoo Elks Club. She loved working in the garden, traveling with her husband and entertaining. Ginny served as secretary for the Kalamazoo Concert Band and volunteered for the March of Dimes and the Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gregory Allen Wait in 1992; and her sister, Vivian Hanson. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Wait, whom she married on October 18, 1947; their children, Ted Wait of Kalamazoo, Sally Bogert Jefrey Snyder of HA, and Barbara Vic Poco of Grosse Ile, MI; grandchildren, Stephanie Bollen, Alex Poco and Anna Poco. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday in First Presbyterian Church, 321 W. South St. with Rev. William Fuerstenau officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. on Sunday from 2-5 PM.
